Hi there! I'm Melanie; wife, boy mom, and artist. I live here in the mountains and Yosemite is basically my backyard. You can usually find me painting, hiking, practicing yoga, or playing with my two little guys.
Along with being a professional makeup artist, I'm also a trained artist with a background in painting and sculpture, having received my art degree from Fresno State. As such, I take an artist's approach when applying makeup, working with light and color to enhance your best features. When it comes to beauty I believe that people should notice you first, not your makeup! So with that in mind, I'll personally work with you to develop a look so that you feel like the best version of yourself.
As a makeup artist, I've worked in many aspects of the beauty industry for more than twenty years. After starting my career in the salon I moved into working in tv and print, with numerous celebrities, models, and photographers. From there, I went on to develop and teach professional makeup courses for Columbia College Chicago as well as corporate workshops .My freelance career has also included working for makeup lines like MAC, Tarte, and Chanel, among others, and as a skincare and cosmetic rep .
While tv will always be my first love, I most enjoy working with everyday people and brides-to-be, like you! Nothing beats helping you look and feel your absolute best on one of the most important days of your life! As I'm limited to the number of weddings that I take on per year, please contact me for my rates and availability. In the meantime, you can view more of our work on our Instagram@Yosemitemakeup.
If you've made it this far and would like to find out more, contact me today, I'd love to hear from you!
"Melanie was so easy to work with. She was friendly, professional, communicative, and listened to what I wanted. She created a look that was exactly what I had in mind based of pictures I had sent her. My bridal party adored her as well. I cannot recommend Melanie highly enough!" Emma K.
